Or more complexly, to equalize it per capita with a latitude adjustment given that certain latitudes require less energy per person to live comfortably at than other latitudes.) As you can see in the per capita emissions graph I created, if we were to focus simply on the states with extremely low populations and relatively low overall emissions and ignore improvements in Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and New York, we’d be missing opportunities.
